BVI: The BVI were removed from the EU’s list of non-cooperative jurisdictions this month - while 3 countries were added: Seychelles, Belize and Antigua/Barbuda
Guernsey: Political discussions continued around tax reform, with politicians voting against proposals to increase taxes on motorists, visitors and companies without introducing a goods and services tax (GST),
Luxembourg: Election results in the country saw a change in government as a ten year coalition led by the DP liberal party’s Xavier Bettel came to an end, with the Christian Democrat CSV party becoming the power broker in the new government
Cayman: The jurisdiction was successful in being removed from the FATF’s grey list
Jersey: Jersey’s government published two key documents - a ‘Strategy for Sustainable Economic Development’ and a ‘Delivery Framework for Sustainable Economic Development’ – which pointed to the need for a cultural shift in approaches to work if the island is to achieve necessary economic growth
Media: Luxembourg based media titles Delano and PaperJam published a policy highlighting how AI can augment journalism and how they intend to use AI tools
