  • Jersey: Statistics Jersey released a gender pay gap report for the Island, which found that men in Jersey earned on average 12% more than women.

  • Dubai: The DIFC witnessed a 20% rise in companies registering there in 2022 according to new figures.

  • Guernsey: After long running campaigns and protests, politicians in Guernsey voted not to adopt a Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the Island.

  • BVI: The EU added a number of jurisdictions to its list of 'uncooperative jurisdictions' in February, including the British Virgin Islands, as well as Costa Rica, the Marshall Islands and Russia.

  • EU: Both Ireland and Portugal axed their 'golden visa' schemes for non-EU nationals this month.

  • Ethical Communications: February marked Global Alliance Ethics Month, with a range of freely available tools and learning sessions available to tune into and use.

  • Media: The latest readership figures for consumer magazines were published in February and made for interesting reading with combined average circulation globally falling to 24 million in 2022 across print and digital, compared to 26.8 million in 2021.

  • Social Media: Meta published its second annual Culture Rising report in February. It analyses millions of conversations from across Facebook and Instagram to provide insights in key developments that could help comms professionals in effective social media use.
