Crystal Director becomes only Jersey-based Chartered PR Practitioner

Crystal PR Director Adam Riddell has achieved Chartered Status with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and become the only Jersey-based PR professional to hold the industry’s highest level of accreditation.

He successfully completed the CIPR’s first Chartership Assessment Day of 2016, held in London on Monday 25 January.

Adam was one of 15 industry professionals from across the UK to be rigorously assessed by experts on their skills, knowledge and competencies in ethics, strategy and leadership. The assessors were led by Emma Leech, Director of Marketing & Advancement at Loughborough University.

Currently Chair of the CIPR Channel Islands Group and Chair of the IoD Jersey’s PR sub-committee, Adam leads on PR strategy for a number of Crystal’s major international financial services businesses and public sector organisations, spanning the Channel Islands, London and a range of international finance centres globally.

He commented: “Public relations practitioners are working at the heart of organisations to help shape their future and as such it is vital they have the right knowledge and expertise, underpinned by an ability to act ethically and with integrity. These are the professional standards the CIPR stands for and I am delighted to have achieved this status. As Chair of the Channel Islands Group of the CIPR, I also hope we will see a number of other PR professionals in the Islands do the same over the coming months.”

Last year, the CIPR announced its aim to increase the number of Chartered professionals in public relations from approximately 50 (since its introduction in 2008) to more than 250 in 2017.
