Mid-Year Update: communication looks to cut through complexity and support ambition

The first half of 2026 has been fascinating from a communications perspective – with greater regulatory, political and technological complexity being balanced out by a good helping of ambition and confidence across the IFC landscape.

For the team at Crystal PR, that’s kept us very busy indeed, as we’ve continued to see AI, regulatory change, and geographical reach at the heart of client communications activity. Over the first six months of 2026, the team has:

  • handled more than 150 announcements, statements and comments on behalf of clients
  • managed more than 80 pieces of long-form content, including thought leadership articles, blogs, and speeches

Notably, around 15% of all activity has been focused on regulatory and legislative change, whilst around 10% has been focused on each of AI, growth/acquisitions, and community activity respectively. It gives an idea of the diverse nature of work undertaken by the team over the first half of the year.

A key feature has also been a broadening out of market reach across locations clients have looked for support in, beyond Jersey, Guernsey, the IoM and the UK. In 2026 so far, we’ve been active in:

  • BVI
  • Brazil
  • Cayman
  • Bermuda
  • Luxembourg
  • Netherlands
  • Singapore
  • South Africa
  • Switzerland
  • UAE
  • US

In addition, Crystal PR welcomed back Tori Morel-Orchard earlier this year, to provide additional support across the client portfolio, whilst the team was also proud to continue to provide pro bono communications support for the Jersey Festival of Words, taking place in September this year.

Reflecting on the year so far, Adam Riddell, Managing Client Director, said:

“In many ways, the first six months of 2026 have maintained a narrative we have been seeing for some time – our role is about helping organisations navigate complexity just as much as it is about helping them to tell their stories. This has come across through the political change we have seen both in Jersey and elsewhere so far this year, through Jersey’s ‘Time to Win’ report that has been central to a lot of conversations in the financial services space, through ongoing discussions around AI adoption, and through the multijurisdictional growth strategies firms are pursuing.

“One trend that has stood out is the increasingly international nature of the work we are doing. Organisations that might once have viewed themselves as operating in a handful of markets are now managing conversations across multiple jurisdictions, cultures and regulatory environments.

“Looking ahead to the second half of the year, the pace of change shows little sign of slowing. Markets remain uncertain, geopolitical developments continue to influence business decisions, regulation evolves constantly and technology is fundamentally reshaping how organisations operate and present themselves. Against that backdrop, communication remains critical, helping firms make sense of complexity for employees, clients, investors and wider stakeholders.”
